Finishing up the Story...

...and I find pictures I took for chapter five back in January. :( I really wish I could use these pictures/storyline instead of the one I thought of this weekend; the graphics are so much more better, and so are the clothes! I promise the last five chapters will look just as good as the first four. c:

THEY LOOK SO PERFECT ASDFGHKJL :(

Chapter Five

CHAPTER FIVE: Despite the brief chapter, Mimi changes her appearance due to safety reasons after Taryn's kidnapping, and her and Matthew try to adjust to their new security-packed home without touching each other. Back in Japan, Ren suffers changes as well with the trial - but are they good, or bad? And just how good or bad?

Sleep overtook her like a tidal wave during a destructive hurricane, a thin line of drool trickling down her porcelain cheek. Even though there was a comforting bed complete with a Tempur-Pedic mattress above her tall figure, the floor seemed like a better version of paradise for Mimi Takanoa. What a sweet, unfamiliar room to partake in slumber...

Mimi's honey glazed brown eyes snapped like a turtle after his food, and she sat up in a panic. Her head spun around, scanning the gorgeous blue bedroom that appeared straight out of a special edition of the Country Home magazine. This wasn't Matthew's room! Holy hell, did she get kidnapped by Taryn again? Matthew swore he'd get a restraining order on her as soon as possible! What the heck was going on THIS time?
"Matthew! Matthew!" Mimi yelped out the man's name with agony, praying to herself that his deep voice would ring out and her high-pitched cry of terror would attract him quicker than a bee to honey. The silence following after her screams made Mimi's skin tremble with goosebumps. Oh, good grief. How the hell did Taryn get to her so quickly after she had just taken her and said she'd fuck off?
 Taryn definitely had no manners.

"Miiiimi. Sweet Mimi, my beautiful akachan tenshi."
Mimi's heart stuttered, and her fearful frown turned into a pout with pure sorrow. "...Dad?" she whispered, part of her wishing she wasn't dreaming, and the other half of her hoping she wasn't going totally crazy.
But she soon made the inference that she wasn't crazy at all; emerging from the closet door, Ren Takanoa walked gracefully toward Mimi, arms opened wide and yearning for a loving embrace. Without hesitation, Mimi gripped onto her father tightly and squeezed for dear life, wanting to cry at his surprise visit. No wonder the room was unfamiliar - she was in Ren's hotel room!
"Dad, yoi ichi-nichi! Yoi ichi-nichi! I missed you so, why are you here in New York?" Mimi honestly just wanted to skip the formalities with her beloved father, but her curiosity was getting the better of her. Why was he here?
"I can't talk long, kawaiko chan. I'm just a figment of your imagination. But I'm foreshadowing something major in our lives coming fairly soon, so watch your steps. I love you, Mimi..."

*Akachan tenshi = baby angel

*Yoi ichi-nichi = good day

*Kawaiko chan = little one ((or girl))

A sharp wind erupting from the open bedroom window caused Mimi to shake, and her arms naturally responded by wrapping around her skinny torso. She blinked back several times before reality hit her that Ren was simply her imagination - the kind of omen that made her worry.
 What was going to happen?

After calling out Matthew's name helplessly to no avail, Mimi slowly tiptoed down the flight of wooden stairs a few doors down from the blue bedroom and ended up in a workout room with ugly yellow wallpaper. The wooden floors, despite their finishing touch making them appear brand new, squeaked beneath her feet. Feeling awkward being in a random place that clearly wasn't the hotel where Ren wasn't staying, Mimi tried to make herself comfortable sitting on the only couch in the room. Mimi's butt sunk in the amazingly soft cushions of the couch, surpassing the urge to walk outside and engage in a manhunt search for Matthew. She had no idea where he put her phone, and even if she did had it, her charger was nowhere to be seen; her phone was dying the last time she kept it in her pocket, which was back at the mall. Mimi groaned and screamed Matthew's name once more, except this time, she expected the silence. Throwing her head back against the couch, Mimi took a deep breath and counted to ten, trying not to be upset. Matthew, you're a big piece of...
"Mimi, I'm in the kitchen!" Matthew's infamous voice caused Mimi to blush out of frustration, and she stood up quickly to face the door leading to what she figured was the kitchen. "Gee, I'd love to go in there, but I don't know what fucking room!" Mimi yelled back, stomping her foot and hoping he'd distinguish her fury.

The seasoned smell of ramen noodles took over Mimi's nostrils once she entered the middle door of the workout room, and the aroma led her to Matthew bent over his lunch eagerly. The first detail Mimi noticed was that all of his beautiful blonde hair was shaven down into little specks of dark hair, and Mimi couldn't help but frown; first, he lays her down on the floor of a strange home, doesn't tell her about it, and now he's trying to be a jarhead?
"Good afternoon, sleepyhead," Matthew said with an oblivious smile, his blue eyes skimming his bowl with interest to see what noodle he'd capture in his utensil next. Mimi bit her lip and crossed her arms over her chest so tight, she felt as if her ribs would snap like twigs. "Where the hell are we?" she spat, wanting to knock the stupid smile off of his face.

Matthew sensed the tension in Mimi, and he reluctantly turned his attention away from his food and to the frowning woman in front of him. "Oh, yeah. I carried you in your sleep last night, and I guess you were totally knocked out, but I told you that we were moving houses. Taryn knows the address of that place, and she could get to you at any given moment. Sorry about all the confusion," Matthew replied, staring at Mimi's frowning face and hoping his words would somewhat ring a bell in her mind.

Despite his reassuring statement, Mimi still wanted to find a logical reason to be mad at Matthew. Why did he always ease his way out of trouble? The smile on his face slowly began to drift away as he stood in front of Mimi, mirroring her expression. "Why do you still look pissed? Isn't me trying to keep you at bay from danger a good thing? It's my job, Mimi," Matthew stated bluntly, causing Mimi's bottom lip to tremble into a deeper frown. He was right again! Damn him.

"You still should have woken me up instead of trying to be Superman times five hundred," Mimi said hastily, silently satisfied that she had a decent comeback for him. Matthew visibly slumped in his stance and sighed, rubbing his newly shaven head with exasperation. "Whatever, Mimi. At least be somewhat grateful that I just spent over $200,000 dollars on a new house especially for you," he responded, rolling his eyes for emphasis.

Two-hundred THOUSAND dollars...gone like that because of her? Mimi softened and tilted her head to the side, jet black strands of her hair falling over her face. "Oh, Matthew," she murmured, her stomach churning. He went out of his way to protect her from Taryn; she should stop being such a whiny bitch and show gratitude. "I'm sorry for acting like a child about it."
Matthew's smile returned for a brief moment, but soon disappeared once the tension completely cleared the room. What he was going to say next might rock Mimi's world and cause her to be mad at him all over again.
That was the last thing he wanted.
"Now that all the smoke has cleared, I actually had another proposition for your safety. You noticed how I shaved my hair off, and it's to fend off Taryn. When she looks for me, she's going to point out my blonde hair. I'm thinking about getting rid of my facial hair too. But now we need to change your appearance as well, and I already booked you an appointment that starts in three hours and I thi---"
Mimi's sudden wide eyes halted Matthew mid-sentence, and he immediately knew Mimi didn't like where he was going with the conversation. "Please understand, Mimi."
Mimi moaned and pinched the bridge of her nose between her fingers, mumbling something in Japanese that Matthew figured he didn't want to translate. But as she opened her eyes, Matthew saw the reluctant answer of a yes in her expression, and he grinned.
She was actually going to go through with it!

The drive to the Sunset Salon and Tanning was only a few miles away to their new home, yet it felt like hours for Mimi as Matthew sped down the busy streets of their new residential city. Matthew snuck a few glances at a pouting Mimi, but she didn't return the looks and continued to rest her head lazily on the warm window. Sighing, Matthew turned his attention back to driving the last few minutes to the salon.
The small building screamed rudely at Mimi as Matthew parallel parked in front of the salon, and she shuddered as if a block of ice delivered straight from Antarctica was dropped on her body. Back in Japan, she had her own personal hairstylist who worked for Ren, so she wasn't used to public hairdressers. Why didn't Matthew just tell her all of this shit was going to happen as soon as he thought of it?
"I'll be in the car waiting for you when they're done; I made sure Paula didn't have anyone else booked for the day, so you'll be the only customer," Matthew said as Mimi hesitantly opened the passenger door. Mimi looked back at Matthew, clearly shocked. How did he know that she was used to getting her hair done privately? Not being able to resist, she smiled warmly at him before she waved and walked towards the double doors of the Sunset Salon and Tanning.

Matthew basked gratefully in the mid-summer sun, his exposed abs glistening with water from his previous dip in the pool. He tilted his head back and exhaled happily, feeling exuberant about choosing this lovely estate as his new home. Maybe being Mimi's bodyguard would actually pay off after all...
Matthew felt a presence in front of him after minutes of relaxing on the recliner, and he opened his eyes curiously. Was it the cleaning lady? It was only Saturday - he only hired her for the weekends, so why was she here?

Matthew blinked back several times at the female figure in front of him, wondering if the maid had dyed her natural black hair to the golden blonde he was seeing. But from what he remembered, the maid had a little more meat on her bones, and she didn't have the frown that the woman in front of him displayed...
Matthew's eyebrows raised in surprise, and it suddenly hit him.
 Mimi.
"Wow, you look great," he whispered loudly, trying to fish in his mind for the perfect compliment in an effort to throw a smile on her pretty face. From where he was laying, he also took note of the spray tan and the blue contacts Mimi sported; she reminded him of one of the hot girls off the set of Sports Illustrated.  Mimi gave a small smile and was elated that the spray tan majorly hid her natural blush over Matthew's reaction. "Thanks," she said quietly, wondering if she actually looked that fantastic. She told Paula that she'd rather not look at new appearance until she got home, and even though Paula gave her a funny expression to her request, she didn't care.

"I'm going to go up to my room now and try to call my dad; I haven't talked to him in a couple of days," Mimi lied, now more anxious than ever to check out herself discreetly in the bathroom mirror. Matthew stopped smiling and opened his mouth to speak, wanting to tell Mimi not to tell Ren about what had happened with Taryn; it would cost Matthew his job being a bodyguard for the Takanoas, and that was the last thing he wanted. But Mimi still had no idea what Matthew's purpose in her life was really about - she still only thought that she was crashing with him until she could officially get on her feet to study abroad.
Matthew waved her away and nodded his head, watching quietly as she walked away from the pool area and back into the new home. She looked beautiful with blonde hair and blue contacts; like an American beauty.
Without thinking twice, Matthew let his mind drift into inappropriate thoughts about Mimi and her new look with an ironically innocent smile on his lips.

 Maybe it isn't that bad...
I really want to look, but I'm afraid I won't like it and I'll chase after Matthew for making me do this...
...well, he seemed to like it...
IF MY MOM WAS STILL ALIVE, SHE'D DISOWN ME FOR NOT EMBRACING MY ORIGINAL JAPANESE LOOK.
 Please mom, forgive me.
 Please Ren, call me soon...
Okay, I need to stay on track - this about my HAIR and EYES right now. Family I'll think about in a minute...
Mimi tried to stall by thinking several thoughts in her head before she uncovered her hand from her blue contacts. Mimi was never really good with change, especially with herself.  She took a dramatic inhale before she removed her pinky, feeling her stomach bend inwards. Now comes the next three fingers and my thumb...come on Mimi, you can do this...

A swift knock at the bathroom door startled Mimi severely. Her hand swiped away from her face from the effect of her frightened jump. Instead of her eyes travelling to her reflection, they looked towards the opening door and at Matthew and his sexy chest. Mimi swallowed when Matthew quietly closed the door behind him. Why didn't he just leave it open?
Matthew walked towards Mimi, and not thinking on impulse, she backed slowly up against the window and bit her lip. What the hell was happening? And why was she acting like this? "Why are you backing away from me?" he asked her the question with a lost answer. She shrugged her shoulders and gave a nervous laugh that sounded unfamiliar to her ears. The Taryn incident that happened yesterday was also the same day that Mimi ended the brief relationship with Matthew, and she figured that she'd get over him following the breakup, yet her heart was humming a different tune.
"Paula just texted me and said you haven't seen your new look yet," Matthew murmured sweetly, reaching his hands up to her heart-shaped face with gentle fingers. Mimi felt her pulse accelerate, and she nodded mechanically. "You look fantastic for the record," he whispered, his blue eyes never leaving hers.

Matthew began to lean in, grabbing Mimi's arms and wrapping them around his body before tucking her chin beneath his hungry fingers. Mimi squirmed, trying to lean out of his embrace and avoiding his heavy gaze. "Matthew, wait---no, don't do this. Please..." she whimpered, knowing his motives. She took a deep inhale and realized that the nasty aroma of alcohol was strong on his tongue, and she began to shake. What was his deal? His lips pressed against hers, and she tried to keep her mouth wide open so she wouldn't return the unwanted gesture.

Mimi tightly squeezed either side of Matthew with her hands and managed to yank him away from her with fury, but deep down inside she was concerned. As she started walking quickly toward the door, Matthew swung her around by the arm, trying to continue the sensual party he started. Mimi's hand met Matthew's cheek and slapped the living hell out of him, hoping that the physical pain would snap him out of his trance.

Matthew backed up, his odd smile of the situation making Mimi's blood boil. Even though the slap didn't wake him up a little, his drunken mindset decided not to touch her again. As stereotypical as it seemed, Mimi thought, she DID indeed know a few karate tricks and could instantly kick Matthew's drunk ass to the curb.
"Alright baby, I understand." Matthew began, laughing and hiccuping to conclude his first sentence of defeat. "I just...I don't doesn't does not, UNDERSTAND!" he burped and took a pause, looking up in thought to find what he was going to say in his mind. When Matthew figured it out, he looked back at Mimi with the same idiotic smile. "I don't. I don't understand. I don't understand why, why, why you. Why you broke up. With meeeeeeeee. I treat you, like, like a princess. I think that...I love you kind of a little bit, I think. So youuuu, you can go. You, can leave this bathroom place if that's, if that's what you really want."
Mimi was shocked. Even if he was buzzed out of his mind, Matthew's subconscious was spitting out words about their breakup and how he felt deep down inside. As crazy as people are when they aren't sober, the truth definitely comes out to play when a person has had one too many drinks.
Not knowing how to respond, Mimi slowly walked backwards to the door, looking anywhere but at the still smiling Matthew.

After making sure a million times that her door was indeed locked, Mimi went to her dresser, happy to see that her clothes were already unpacked. Slipping off her clothes and tossing on a night shirt, Mimi slowly slid to the ground and hugged her knees to her chest, trying to the greatest of her ability not to cry.
 What just happened?

 Acquitted.
That nine letter word drove Ren to emotions that he wouldn't expect to feel throughout the past week. The word almost tasted sweet coming out of his mouth, repeating it several times - sometimes in English, and other times in Japanese. He loved the tongue roll that followed after saying the word in English if you spoke it really fast; just along the two t's. He felt alive, happy...hell, he felt HAPPY to be ALIVE! That was an unexpected outcome in the trial, and it felt as if he lost a hundred pounds and was floating alongside the birds in the late morning sky. He could finally go outside without having to watch his back frequently. He could finally fall asleep at night and do his favorite activities outside of work. He could finally send Mimi back home. Or better yet, he could be alongside his daughter in America, helping her find exciting places to visit and help her get into the perfect Ivy League school.
 Acquitted.

Ren heard the door to his private library open, and he was instantly peeved. The only two people that were ever allowed to barge in without knocking was Mimi and his deceased wife. Everyone else had the wonderful privilege to knock politely.
Ren suddenly changed that rule once he spotted the culprit - Shark slumped lazily against a bookshelf of medical books, and Ren was nervous that Shark's heavy weight could knock them on the ground. His naturally pale skin seemed paler with the exception of his rosy cheeks, and his lips were a funny shade of reddish pink. By the appearance of his unkempt hair, it seemed like Shark was taking the acquitted case a little too well, and his lips told the story of the wine he previously consumed.
Of course Shark was celebrating that way.

With the way Shark waddled over innocently to him, Ren decided to stand up just in case Shark needed support to stand properly, well...somewhat properly.
"I'm so glad we got away with that shit!" Shark exclaimed, doing an awkward happy dance that surprisingly didn't cause him to fall flat on his ass. "I wanted to celebrate the old-fashioned way with you - let's go blow some of that bubbly stuff."

Ren scrunched up his face, defining the wrinkles on his forehead. He had the urge to scold Shark like a concerned mother, but instantly regretted talking to him in that tone for fear of his life.
Just because they were acquitted for a crime that was partially Ren's fault, didn't excuse Shark for finding a valid reason to choke him out in a heartbeat.
"I don't know," he said with sincerity. "I don't want to get in any deep trouble. We avoided most likely doing time in jail; I don't think it'd be wise to risk this." Shark laughed a laugh that oddly soothed Ren, but he still showed a look of worry. Didn't Shark learn his lesson?
 Apparently not.

"Please man? Look, I know we had this major beef between us, but the suds will make everything meellooow. Don't be a puss! It's totally free; it's in a trusted friend's basement, and the lights are like this kick ass shade of green. Come on!"
Ren stared at Shark's begging face for what seemed like an eternity, and he knew he couldn't win this battle, or any battle that involved Shark for that matter. Reluctantly, Ren sighed and nodded his head, praying to himself that nothing serious would happen...

An American pop song by Britney Spears blasted through the speakers in Mimi's new bedroom, and she sulked in her bed as she watched Christina prance around the room with her perfect legs. "I love this fucking song!" Christina said, stopping in front of the bed to belch out the lyrics on sync to Britney.
"I can't take it, take it, take no more.
Never felt like, felt like this, before.
Come on, get me, get me, on the floor.
DJ, what you, what you waiting for?"

Christina then proceeded to dance around the room, singing the catchiest part following the lyrical chorus of the song. "WOAAAH OH-OH-OH-OH-OH OOOOOOOOH." Mimi laughed softly at her best friend's silliness, twirling her new blonde hair around her fingers. She didn't know how she truly felt about it, but the Matthew incident made her totally forget that she got it dyed.

Once again, Christina stepped in front of Mimi, but this time, she didn't sing along to the song. She had turned it down and her breathing slowed down to its normal rate. Watching the naturally tan and blonde Christina made Mimi feel a lot better about her own since she pulled it off so well.
"Okay, okay. I guess I'm done acting like a kid for a while," Christina said, licking her lips with a smile. "But you need to get rid of that frown! Matthew just goes through a drunk phase when he loses something important to him. You're not used to Matthew drinking, but he was buzzed the night that him and Taryn ended it."
Mimi felt her forehead shift upwards as her eyes widened. Now that she thought on it, she remembered seeing a slightly empty bottle of beer on the side of the bed the morning she woke up next to a tangled Matthew and Taryn. She never thought of Matthew being the type of person to take out his sorrow on alcohol.
"He used to be an alcoholic," Christina said as if she had read Mimi's mind. "It was bad; we did an intervention for him when he was nineteen. It was so fucking funny, but I got in trouble for laughing since it was supposed to be---" Christina made air quotes with her fingers "---'serious'. But don't worry about him. You know what takes my mind off of things? Workouts and stretches! Get your ass up and let's do toe touches!"

Mimi nodded her head thoughtfully at the suggestion - she was usually pretty big on staying in shape, but since she came to New York, she hadn't found a comfortable time to do so around Matthew. "Alright, let's go!" she exclaimed like a little kid, sliding off the bed and instantly forming into a stretch position.
Christina suddenly dropped to the ground and sat up on her elbows. "I'll gladly be your coach and let you know if you're doing anything wrong," she said with a Cheshire Cat smile.

"No way; you brought this idea into mind, so you're getting off your lazy ass and doing it with me!" Mimi sneered jokingly, giving a small kick to Christina's back.
Christina let out a dramatic moan and reached out her hand, making a face that made it appear she was actually in pain. "Oh, no. Oh oh no! Now I really can't work out because you totally hurt my back! Ow, ow, ow. Go on without me. Do an extra few for me," she did a terrible fake whimper that caused both of the girls to explode in laughter.

The door to the bedroom creaked open, and a yellow blazer appeared in the room. The laughter immediately stopped as if what the girls weren't laughing about wasn't really funny in the first place. "Ohhh, I see why you didn't kiss me back!" Matthew exclaimed, his speech noticeably better than earlier. "It's because you're a lesbian - for my COUSIN!" Matthew threw back his head and laughed, referring to Mimi stretching in front of Christina. Mimi stood up straight and rolled her eyes, walking to him as if he didn't just try to kiss her hours ago.
"Yep. That's totally the reason. And since we're so lesbian, there's no boys allowed," Mimi said in a sarcastically cheery sounding voice. Christina snickered, but buried her face into the carpet when both Mimi and Matthew shot her a look.

"Well, don't you two love birds mind me; I just wanted to show off my new blazer to you that I got at the mall yesterday before Mimi's stupid ass got kidnapped," Matthew spat rather rudely, walking to Mimi as well. They stood so close in front of each other, Mimi recognized the tiny freckle slightly below his left nostril. She wanted to giggle, but she also wanted to size up Matthew.
"Don't mind me showing you the door," Mimi muttered, shoving his body towards the door with her own. Her body was pressed against his and the door, and she couldn't fight the blush trickling under her tan. She was acting so bold in front of the drunk version of Matthew...
She reached behind his tall figure and turned the doorknob, backing him into the hallway. Before slamming the door and locking it, she mouthed a smug "goodnight."

Once the door shut, Matthew leaned against it in an attempt to catch his wild breath.
 They were so close.

"Urgh, he's such a nutcase!" Mimi exclaimed, leaning against the door with unmasked fury.
 They were so close.

***

"See? Wasn't this a brilliant fucking idea?" Shark said triumphantly, blowing a bubble through his nostril skillfully. Ren nodded and licked his lips, the strawberry flavored bubble popping on his mouth.
"This would be even better with a few ounces of weed and something goood to drink," Ren said, sliding out of his chair to go behind the bar table.

Shark burped out a string of mint flavored bubbles and laughed hysterically, popping the bubbles that strayed too far away from his mouth. Ren watched Shark and felt great; everything was in his favor again, and him and Shark could put the nasty dilemma behind them.
"Oh, yeah!" Shark exclaimed, looking over at Ren with his wide brown eyes. "I forgot to mention this to you. Slade has been a loyal friend to me for many many many years. This is actually his basement. He's helped me with drug deals in the past, and I get most of my stuff from him; I'm a supplier, but he's an extreme supplier. We've come to an agreement with one another to keep our business going strong. For every penny my buyers pay me, they have to pay him double. Imagine how much bankroll we'd make in like a fucking day!"
Ren's smile disappeared. He felt the ice in the glass shake at the top of his glass, and he couldn't hide his displeasure in Shark's agreement with his friend. "Shark, no one would be able to afford your services though. I'm a businessman, an entrepreneur myself, and I know all the tricks. It's just not going to work out - no way in hell."
Shark laughed, but it wasn't a cheerful laugh. It was the kind of laugh that the evil villain did during the climax of the movie right before the superhero came in and whooped some ass.
But this time, there was no hero.
"So are you telling me that we're not capable of running our shit? What the fuck, Ren? And are you also implying that you're not going to pay my wonderful partner and best friend Slade? What fucking pig mooches off of me and says some wicked shit like that?!" Shark's rising voice made Ren gulp, and suddenly, he didn't feel happily drunk anymore.

"No, no, no!" Ren exclaimed, shaking his head unnaturally fast from side to side. "I didn't mean it like that!" Judging by his angry expression, it didn't seem as if Shark was going to give in to Ren's reassuring words. He leaned against the table of the alcohol-flavored bubble machine and gave a death glare that almost made Ren shit his pants.
"You stupid kusottare; I should have you murdered for DOUBTING ME." Shark's slurred speech made Ren realize that the drugged up version of Shark was even crazier than the sober Shark, and the chills going down his spine increased by the second. Shark sat up and walked to the bottom of the stairs, his eerie eyes never leaving Ren.
"Because of your fucking outburst, you're paying quadruple of what you owe both me AND Slade. If you fail to pay us in two days, you're finished. Mimi will be raped, and her throat will be slit. I will hunt you down if that's what it takes. Hell, if you report me to the police, I'll fucking slaughter them too! I told you not to fuck with me, Ren Takanoa. Now get the hell out of here before I fucking feed your eyes to my fish."
Ren choked, and the cup slipped from his hand, the glass and cool liquid shattering everywhere. The glass reminded him of his own life; how it was shaped, but broken within a matter of seconds.
 Destroyed.

The morning light in New York caused a glow throughout homes and community places with windows, and even though it was only nine, kids from neighboring homes were already outside, playing and screaming - their whole lives ahead of them. Mimi woke up with a smile on her face, despite the events that had taken place yesterday. Christina snoring closely next to her made her giggle, and she was glad she had asked her to come over that night.
Mimi's phone lit up next to her on the nightstand, and the long vibration indicated that she was receiving a phone call. When the caller ID had a picture of Ren and his name in bold green letters, Mimi's smile only brightened and she picked up the phone eagerly. "Dad!" she exclaimed into the earpiece, hoping he'd mirror her elated mood.
 But that wasn't the case.

"Ohaiyo. Mimi, there's been a string of events happening, and all I can say now is that I have a flight booked - I should be in New York later on tonight."
Mimi felt the phone slip out of her sweating palm, and by the tone of her father's voice, it wasn't for a good reason.
Ren was coming to New York.

WOOOHOO. I'm so happy to be finally complete with chapter five; almost took me two full days, and I hate waiting that long to complete one. >.<

The writing style on this one isn't my best, and that's because I was rushing to get it done. The last five chapters will definitely be better. I think this chapter was the climax of the story, and I decided to switch it up and make chapter six be an interlude, and it's going to focus on the Takanoas. It should be a fairly short chapter, but I'm excited to work on it.

Sorry for the alcohol theme of this story. I didn't realize both Mimi and Ren would be dealing with drunk people until I started writing Ren's part, and I was slowly losing my creative juices lol.

I chose this picture above for the "closing" image because the pose Mimi and Christina were doing was actually a pose by mypalsim  (who is also a FANTASTIC writer), and the pose is a couple pose where the guy is grabbing the girl's butt, so that's why Mimi is doing that weird reaching thing with her hand hahaha. c:

Here are the infamous questions to think about for chapter seven since chapter six is an interlude!

-How is living with Ren in NY going to be like for Mimi and Matthew?

-Will Ren get caught in New York by someone?

-How will Mimi and Matthew act around each other after the kiss, especially now that Ren is with them?

-Just how ruthless and far will Shark go to prove his point and show his darkest side?

Until next time!
